We are thrilled to announce that WPi’s work on Atlanta’s Historic 4th Ward Park will be featured in Landscape Architect's "Parks" issue this March!
The aesthetics and workmanship of the park are spectacular, but the positive impact in the community is the project’s greatest achievement. According to Atlanta City Councilmember Kwanza Hall, “This is one of those rare public projects that captured the imagination of everyone involved. The year-long design process brought residents, stormwater engineers, and landscape architects together as equals around a common table. Because the process respected the core values of the Old Fourth Ward—diversity, innovation, and a commitment to social justice—one of the city’s most historic neighborhoods is now home to its most forward-thinking park.
A special thanks is extended to our team members for their outstanding contributions to this award winning space: HDR, Inc., Richard Wittschiebe HandArchitect, URS, Inc., Pillar Design, Womack Lumsden & Associates ConsultingEngineers, Willmer Engineering, Bob Scott Irrigation Consultant Services, MikeClark Irrigation Design, Astra Group, Inc., Reeves Contracting Company, DavisLandscape, Valley Crest Landscape, Hannah Solar, PEQ, Artemis Studios

The space boasts flowing walkways, a city greensward, a splashpad and playground, a recirculating stream, wildflower meadows, a multi-purpose recreation field, and Atlanta's first skatepark.
