WPi Friday Field Trip - Auldbrass Plantation Yemasseee Style!

WPi along with a group of local professional friends had the honor of touring Auldbrass Plantation on Friday with our Local Tour Guide Tom Crews! If you haven't toured the property, we encourage you to do so! The architecture is amazing and the grounds are absolutely beautiful!

Open Land Trust Information About the Plantation:
Although Frank Lloyd Wright designed over 1000 projects during his long and prolific career, Auldbrass in Yemassee, South Carolina, is the only plantation among them. It is also one of the largest and most complex projects he ever undertook. Wright had an unusually intense commitment to Auldbrass, and worked on it, off and on, for over twenty years, from 1938 until his death in 1959. In 1986, film producer Joel Silver bought Auldbrass, and with the help of Eric Lloyd Wright, the grandson of Frank Lloyd Wright, he meticulously restored this stunning architectural gem. (Please note, this is a self guided walking tour of the expansive grounds of Auldbrass Plantation.) Click on the following link to read a New York Times article about Auldbrass.

Going back in time...The History of Williams-Brice Stadium!

Ever wonder the history of an iconic place such as Williams-Brice Stadium? Pretty remarkable to see the exciting changes over the years and to know where it began. Gamecock Athletics featured an amazing video that shows where it all began and where is it now! Truly a job well done!
