Official Countdown #Cheersto30Years

Wood+Partners Inc. is  only 22 days away from celebrating their 30th Anniversary! To kick-off this event we are celebrating the entire Month of May highlighting our employees and special projects!

Landscape Architecture, community service and a love of sports and outdoor recreation are Mark Baker’s passions. These interests guided Baker, President and CEO of WPi, from a young age and have led to a love for the environment and an appreciation giving back to the community. A native of Valdosta, GA, Mark spent many hours playing youth sports, backpacking, camping, canoeing and hunting.  His love of the arts also grew throughout high school and college.  Today Baker still enjoys photography, backpacking, canoeing, biking, golf, UGA football and pretty much anything to do with the outdoors. Mark Baker, RLA graduated with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from University of Georgia in 1977 and joined Edward Pinckney & Associates (EPA). Following his work at EPA, Baker worked for 10 years as Director of Land Planning & Landscape Architecture for LS3P Architects in Charleston. In the spring of 1998, his college friend and former co-worker at EPA, Perry Wood invited him to join as Partner at Wood+Partners Inc. on Hilton Head Island. Now with two offices, Wood+Partners Inc. has grown into a southeast regional practice and in in its third generation of leadership with Mark as President and CEO. Baker is known to be the office photographer, taking tons of project and office event photos some of which you have probably seen on social media. Mark and his wife Betsy, an interior designer are residents of Hilton Head Island, active in the community and are members at First Presbyterian Church on Hilton Head. They are proud parents to Craig and Alyssa who are now grown and successful professional adults. And we can’t forget their two “fur kitties” Tripod (their 3 legged cat also affectionately known as Fatso) and his brother, Skinny.
